Curling
Men: Kevin Martin skipped his Edmonton team to an 8-3 win over Denmark to finished in first place in the round-robin tournament at 8-1, setting up a semifinal match against Sweden.
Women: Kelley Law and her Richmond, B.C., team lost 7-6 to Switzerland, placing first at 8-1 in round-robin play and a place in the semifinals.
Figure Skating
Ice dance: Shae-Lynn Bourne, Chatham, and Victor Krantz, Vancouver, finished fourth after free dance in a final field of 24; Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lawson, Longueuil, wound up 12th.
Freestyle Skiing
Women's aerials: Veronica Brenner, Sharon, won silver medal; Deidra Dionna, Red Deer, won bronze; Veronika Bauer, Toronto, finishes 10th in a final field of 12.
Hockey
Men: Canada tied the Czech Republic 3-3 in Group C play, putting the Canadians into quarter-final play against Finland.
