Men's downhill: Edi Podivinsky, Toronto, placed 24th of 55 finalists; Darin McBeath, Calgary, was 32nd; David Anderson, Rossland, B.C., was 38th.

Luge

Men's singles: Kyle Connelly, Calgary, was 11th after two runs in a field of 49; Tyler Seitz, Calgary, placed 15th overall; Chris Moffat, Calgary, was 17th.

Women's halfpipe: Natasza Zurek, Vancouver, finished 15th in qualifying, eliminated.
