The main skating venue for the 2002 Winter Games will be the Salt Lake
Ice Center.
Located in the Salt Lake Olympic Square in downtown Salt Lake City, the
Ice Center will be home to short-track speed skating and figure skating.
It has a seating capacity of 15,600.
During the year, the Ice Center is a multi-purpose facility, housing
various sports and entertainment events. The Ice Center also serves as a
community emergency center, and features the only earthquake-proof roof
in the United States.
