Named to the National Bobsleigh Team in October of 2000, Sokolowski's strength and speed from years playing defensive end in collegiate football made him a natural for the sport. "It's fast, intense and exciting," says the brakeman. "I used to watch it on television and always found the speed appealing. I've dreamed of making it to the Olympics since my brother competed for Canada in the 4 x 400 sprint relay at the 1984 Games in Los Angeles. Naturally, Salt Lake City is a dream of mine, competition runs in the family."
