Michelle Kelly is a veteran in the sport of skeleton and has maintained herself among the world's best the past three seasons. On the World Cup circuit in 1999-200 she was second overall and the past two seasons she's placed fifth overall.
"I'm going into the Olympics looking for a medal," she said. "I think I'm one of the threats."
Kelly is a former bobsledder who raced both sleds during a certain period. She began bobsleigh in 1994 and a year later started training in skeleton. She competed on both circuits until the 1999-2000 season. She committed herself to skeleton when the IOC announced it was an official event for the 2002 Games.
It's not surprising, Kelly could juggle both events. She was a gymnast for 13 years and also competed in track and field, soccer and diving as a youngster.
