Danielle Goyette is one of Canada's key players in women's hockey at the Olympics. She's an experienced international performer- she competed at her first world championships in 1992 and has played in six worlds overall- and is a key offensive threat as the national team's all-time leading scorer. At the 2001 worlds, she earned nine points including four goals in five games.

These are expected to be Goyette's last Olympics. She's already been advised to quit hockey in the past because of shoulder problems. In fact, she's suffered 23 shoulder dislocations and has undergone surgery for the problem. However she ambitions to stay connected with the team as a coach.

Goyette works at a Home Depot store in Calgary in the plumbing department, part of an ongoing sponsorship between the store and athletes preparing for the Olympic Games.
