Deidra Dionne is on the fast track to greatness in freestyle skiing aerials. In her second season on the World Cup team last winter she won the
bronze medal at the world championships held in Whistler, B.C. She already has two World Cup medals to boot. In 1999-2000 she was named
the World Cup's female rookie of the year.
She has two brothers who are excellent golfers. Curtis, 22, attends a U.S. college on a golf scholarship and Drew, 17, is a member of the
Alberta provincial golf team and is expected to be recruited by a U.S. school.
Deidra Dionne participated in many sports as a youth and played baseball on a boys team until age 14. She's also won a provincial badminton
title. She's been skiing since age three but started freestyle at 13.
