Andy Capicik made a great comeback last season in men's aerials placing fourth in the World Cup standings. He had missed the entire 1999-2000 campaign due to a broken arm suffered in training camp.

Capicik was touted as one of Canada's best young freestylers back in 1993 when he won his first World Cup event in 1993. In 1997 he earned bronze at the world championships and in 1998 was second in the World Cup standings. These are his third consecutive Olympics. At Nagano however he was just coming off a knee injury and placed 12th after an impressive fourth in Lillehammer in 1994.

This season, Capicik started off strongly with a bronze at the season opening World Cup but has struggled since then.
