Patrice Archetto and his pairs partner Annabelle Langlois survived a difficult long program at the national championships in January to place third and qualify for the Olympic team. A couple of weeks later however they came back strong to win the silver medal at the Four Continents Championships in South Korea earning two first-place marks from the nine judges.
"Korea was a big step for us because our long program at nationals didn't go well at all," said Langlois.
Langlois has struggled with the flu bug this winter. She was forced to withdraw from the NHK Trophy and wasn't 100 percent for the nationals. Still they never missed a day of training.
"I wasn't sleeping because I had a bad cough," said Langlois. "The only thing I could take for it was vitamin C."
They joined forces in 1998 and are coached by Josee Picard, the former coach of double Olympic medallists Isabelle Brasseur and Lloyd Eisler.
"Annabelle's dream was to make the Olympic team and I'm happy for her," said Archetto.
