Williamson, Woolstencroft win gold on final day of Games
SALT LAKE CITY (CP) -- Toronto's Chris Williamson and Victoria's Lauren Woolstencroft won gold medals in men's and women's slalom events Saturday on the final day of competition at the Paralympic Games.
The two golds anchored a solid finish for Canadian athletes, who earned four medals Saturday. That boosted Canada's haul to 15 medals (six gold, five silver, four bronze), the same total it had four years ago in Nagano, Japan.

Canadian Daniel Wesley wins gold in sit ski slalom
SALT LAKE CITY (CP) -- Daniel Wesley won gold in the sit ski slalom race Friday, giving him a medal of every colour at the Paralympics, while the Canadian sledge hockey team was shut out of the medals after a shootout loss.
Wesley, who won a silver medal in the Super G and bronze in the downhill earlier at the Games, had a good feeling going into the race.

Canadian sledge hockey team ties Sweden, out of gold medal hunt
SALT LAKE CITY (CP) -- The Canadian sledge hockey team's hopes of a gold medal at the Paralympics died Thursday after a 1-1 tie with Sweden while Calgary skier Karolina Wisniewska captured her third medal of the Games.
Canada (1-2-2) needed a win in the final round robin game to have a shot at playing in Friday's gold medal game against the U.S.

Patterson wins bronze medal in alpine event
SALT LAKE CITY (CP) -- Vancouver's Scott Patterson battled snowy conditions to win a bronze medal in the men's giant slalom sit ski competition at the Paralympics on Wednesday.
Hans-Joerg Arnold of Switzerland won the gold in a combined time of two minutes 20.52 seconds while Korea's Sang Min Han took the silver in 2:23.12. Patterson finished in 2:25.25.
