Australia's biggest indoor sports and entertainment centre is located at
Homebush Bay in the heart of Olympic Park.
The SuperDome will be fully roofed and the column free performance space
provides an uninterrupted view from all seats. It will be able to house
everything from concerts and indoor sports to gala dinners and major
exhibitions.
The 48 x 75 metre event floor will be much bigger than in most
entertainment centres, allowing a wider range of events than can
normally be accommodated in a facility of this type. The floor is
surrounded by five levels of seating which can accommodate up to 20,000
spectators, including 2600 in a prestige club seating area and 1000 in
56 suites. A number of high-standard catering and concession outlets are
spread throughout.
The SuperDome will host artistic gymnastics and basketball during the
Olympic Games, with a seating capacity of 15,000 and 18,000
respectively. During the Paralympic Games there will be 18,000 seats for
basketball.
