 Justin Abdou has won almost every national event possible since he started wrestling in the early 1980's. He was national champion from 1984 to 1995 in the category he entered. Since 1996, a rivalry has developed with Gary Holmes in 85 kilos and the pair have split the last four national titles. Abdou won the 1987 cadet world title and took the gold medal at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria. He started wrestling at age seven at the YMCA in Moose Jaw.
